Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Cravex ("the Service"), you ("User", "College", "Teacher", "Student") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users including college administrators, teachers, and students.

2. Description of service

Cravex provides a WhatsApp-based AI assistant platform for VTU-affiliated engineering colleges. The service includes:

• AI-powered responses to academic questions via WhatsApp
• Attendance tracking and predictive alerts
• Academic risk scoring from attendance and marks data
• PDF document indexing and knowledge retrieval
• Bulk student registration via Excel upload
• Parent notifications for at-risk students
• Web-based administration dashboard

3. Eligibility and accounts

The Service is intended for use by VTU-affiliated engineering colleges, their faculty, and enrolled students. Colleges must designate at least one administrator responsible for the account. Users must provide accurate registration information. Sharing account credentials is prohibited.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any purpose other than legitimate academic communication
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or exploit the platform
• Send spam, abusive, or misleading content through the broadcast feature
• Upload documents containing copyrighted material without authorization
• Attempt to access another college's data
• Use the service in violation of WhatsApp's Terms of Service or Meta's policies

5. College responsibilities

Colleges are responsible for:

• Ensuring teachers use the service appropriately
• Accuracy of student data uploaded to the system
• Obtaining appropriate consent from students and parents before enabling parent notifications
• Complying with applicable Indian data protection laws including the IT Act 2000
• Maintaining confidentiality of dashboard login credentials

6. AI-generated content

Cravex uses Google Gemini AI to generate responses. AI responses are provided for informational and educational assistance only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content. Students should verify critical academic information with their professors. Cravex is not a substitute for professional academic advice.

7. WhatsApp compliance

The service operates through Meta's WhatsApp Business API. Use of the service is subject to WhatsApp's Business Policy and Commerce Policy. Template messages and business-initiated notifications must comply with Meta's messaging policies. Colleges are responsible for ensuring their use of broadcast features complies with anti-spam regulations.

8. Pilot program terms

Colleges accepted into the free pilot program receive three months of service at no charge. After the pilot period, continued use requires a paid subscription. We reserve the right to modify pilot program terms with 14 days' notice. Pilot program data will be retained for 30 days after expiry if the college does not convert to a paid plan.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service depends on third-party infrastructure including Meta WhatsApp API, Google Gemini API, and Supabase. Downtime caused by these third parties is outside our control. We will communicate planned maintenance via the broadcast feature when possible.

10. Limitation of liability

Cravex is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cravex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the college in the past 30 days.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service for violation of these terms, non-payment, or if required by law. Colleges may terminate at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, college data will be deleted within 30 days upon request.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Belagavi, Karnataka, India.

13. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms of Service. We will notify active colleges of material changes with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
